Pelvic pain is often caused by muscles that are overactive. That means they are little too tight and this tension can cause discomfort, much the same as tight neck muscles can give you a headache. Pelvic pain can be incredibly distressing but there is SO much we can do to help.

  • It's a real pain in the butt! And you’ve probably been pigeoning and stretching it until the cows come home but you just don’t seem to get any lasting relief. Often what is labeled as Piriformis syndrome is related to dysfunction in more than one pelvic floor muscle. Until we treat the whole picture, you likely won’t find lasting relief. Taking a gentle approach with hands on work, retraining the muscles to work thru their full range of motion, and targeted strengthening can help make this pain in the butt go away for good.

  • You have been to PT, Chiropractic, and massage and while your back pain maybe got a little better, you still aren’t able to do all the things you love. I see this often. And what it usually means is that we haven’t yet addressed the whole issue. Back pain can be a sign of pelvic floor dysfunction. Especially back pain that hasn’t gotten significantly better with the traditional treatments. By taking a look at your whole system from ankles up thru the crown of the head, including your pelvic floor, we can start to find the culprits for your persistent low back pain. We often weave this bio-mechanical approach together with education about what pain is and what it is trying to tell us. When we tie all these things together, magic starts to happen with moving the needle on stubborn aches and pains.
